Treatments
Julie Bottarini is a highly trained and deeply passionate physical therapist with expert knowledge in lymphology, pelvic floor dysfunction, and women’s health. Specializing in Adult Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, Pediatric Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, Pre and Postpartum Therapy, and Post-Cancer and Lymphedema Therapy, Julie is able to identify the most effective methods to manage and overcome the painful and debilitating effects that can result from these conditions.
Though not often seen as a first option by physicians, physical therapy is a suitable alternative or adjunctive therapy to typical treatments performed by physicians for these conditions. This non-invasive approach to therapy is often comforting to clients and allows them to play a more active role in the management of their condition.
In each experience with her clients, Julie focuses on treating the client as a person rather than simply a condition. Each procedure will be performed with your consent, respecting your personal level of comfort. Pediatric treatments are conducted using a team approach including input from the referring physician, the parents/caregivers, the child, and physical therapist. It is a priority that the child and parent feel comfortable, respected and supported in the therapy process.
To assure thorough individualized treatment and positive outcomes, Julie performs all therapy herself, without the use of assistants or aides. She offers a variety of treatment techniques and modalities which may include and but not limited to:
Techniques:
- Soft Tissue Mobilization
- Joint Mobilization
- Neural Mobilization
- Visceral Mobilization
- Neuromuscular Re-education
- Strength and Flexibility Training
- Functional Training
- Pain Management
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage
- Myofascial Release
Modalities:
- Biofeedback
- Electrical Stimulation
- Ultrasound
What to Expect During Your First Visit
First and foremost, you can expect to be treated as a person rather than simply a condition. Each procedure will be performed with your consent, respecting your personal level of comfort.
Each of Julie’s initial evaluations consists of a thorough review of your medical history, subjective evaluation of symptoms, special tests and any current treatment for the condition. Depending on the condition being treated, she will also conduct a physical examination to help pinpoint the areas to focus on for treatment and client education.
